What is Homepage Startup?

If you're after quick access to your favourite websites, then Homepage Startup is the ideal homepage you want to set your browser to.

You will notice a search box at the top of the page followed by twelve square boxes. Each square box can be assigned a website by you which will save onto your computer for next time you want to access that website.
 

Once you have set up your favourite websites, you simply set your browser to open HomepageStartup.com by default every time. We have made adding and deleting websites easy with Homepage Startup.


Changing The Search

By default, when you perform search, you will be taken to Google Search results. You can change this to either of the following simply by clicking the small icon next to the search box:

  • Google Search
  • MSN Search
  • Yahoo! Search
  • Ask.com Search
  • Wikipedia English
  • Yahoo! Answers
  • Answers.com
     

Move the Boxes!

Once you have set your websites, you can easily move the boxes around the page by clicking and holding down onto the outside of the box. Move the mouse around as you hold the select button down. The positions will save onto your computer for next time. You can position your boxes on different sides to help for better navigation.

For those of the users who do not like the boxes moved, just create an account and have the boxes onto fixed position (read below for details on how to create an account).


Create an Account & Save Your Homepage

Homepage Startup has a great option to save your homepage to access from a different computer. To save your Homepage, you will need an account. Creating and logging into an account is easy and has great benefits such as customization which guests do not have. Here are a few steps to help you get started:
 
1. Click on "Register" at the top of Homepage Startup Main page
2. Fill in your details.
3. Once you've created your account, just log in and you're done.

After you have logged in, any changes you make will save onto your account rather than your computer. When you want to access your Homepage from a different computer, login to the same account and your saved websites/settings will appear.

Share Your Homepage

After you have created an account, you can share your homepage to your friends and family by accessing this page:

http://<your-username>.homepagestartup.com

The above page will show your homepage how you set it at Homepage Startup. If you would like your homepage set to private then go through "Customize" and choose Set My Homepage Private.

 Customization

Once logged in, you will have the ability to customize your homepage. At the moment, you can change your background color, choose whether you want the box positions as fixed or movable, set the amount of rows/columns you want, and make your homepage public or private.
